FUNDRAISING

Cub Scout Fundraising

Your annual dues can be offset by participating in the fall Trails End popcorn fundraiser. Your Scout earns 30% of every dollar sold to help pay for dues, camping, and other expenses. The other 70% goes to pay for the popcorn and a portion of the money goes to the Golden Spread Council. The pack will not earn any money from the popcorn sale. A Scout who sells $585 worth of popcorn will pay for their dues. We know that this seems like a large task, but it is easier than you might think. Typically, Scouts can sell this amount with 6-8 hours of work.

Scouts will have the opportunity to sell popcorn at storefront shifts, throughout the neighborhood, and online through their Trails End account. For storefront shifts organized by the pack, the total amount collected during the storefront sale will be divided equally among the Scouts based on the number of hours worked. The traditional sales season is August, September, and October; however, the Trails End online fundraising is available year-round and rotates a variety of seasonal items throughout the year. Participating in fundraising teaches the Scouts to pay their own way, one of the points of the Scout Law: A Scout is Thrifty.

Pack Fundraising

We are planning a few fundraisers for the pack to help keep dues stable despite rising registration and
materials costs while being able to expand our program’s offerings as we build our membership. The
following fundraisers are planned for benefit of pack during the upcoming program year:

Silent Auction
We are asking each den to build a gift basket for a silent auction at our pinewood derby race.

Sonic Cards
Sonic provides 10 coupon cards per Scout to us free of cost that are sold for $5/each.
